David W. Hamilton
Vice President, Commercial
David joined Elkins Constructors in 1988 after receiving his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. During his 19-year career with the company, David has been involved with every aspect of project management, from on-site field engineering to project development. He completed a master’s degree in business administration at Jacksonville University's Davis College of Business in 2002.
As vice president, David assists in operations and staff recruiting, monitors project management procedures, oversees specific client and project development, and assumes project executive responsibilities on current projects. He specializes in the construction management and design/build markets, where his experience and understanding of team construction are utilized. David’s most current projects include Ring Power Corporation headquarters, Seven Rivers Presbyterian Church, Community Christian Church, Christ’s Church-Fleming Island and Sutton Place at Windsor Park Phase II.
Prior to obtaining his civil engineering degree, David received bachelor’s degrees in business administration and mathematics from Milligan College in Johnson City, Tennessee. He is involved in the community through Christ’s Church, Christian Financial Resources' board of directors, Associated Builders and Contractors' state board of directors, Georgia Tech Christian Campus Fellowship, Milligan College Board of Trustees, and the St. Johns County Economic Development Commission.
David’s approach to the construction business is first to understand the client’s expectations, then to surround yourself with the right team, develop a strategy to achieve the desired results, lead the team through the process and have fun along the way. With his philosophy of never accepting the status quo, he motivates those around him to achieve results beyond the client’s expectations.
