Elkins Constructors, Inc. Completes Luxury Condominium
Jacksonville, FL — Elkins Constructors, Inc. recently wrapped up construction of Old San Jose on the River, a $12.5 million luxury condominium.
Overlooking the St. John’s River, these luxury condominium flats feature distinctive ornamentation and rich materials. Walkable streets and pathways foster a connection to the adjacent historic neighborhood. LRK Architects designed the complex to introduce a sense of history and pedestrian scale to the community.
The complex consists of 18 units ranging in size from 2,000 to 3,400 SF for regular units and 5,000 and 6,000 SF for the two penthouse suites. With 10 foot ceiling heights, extensive crown molding, granite countertops and Sub-Zero/Wolf appliances, this project boasts a higher degree of finishes and quality than most luxury condominiums in the area.
Building construction began in June 2007 and utilized cast-in-place concrete for the parking garage walls, block exterior with stucco (above grade) and post tension decks for durability.
The site was the previous home of River Reach Apartments and required an extensive amount of site work to ready the area for the Old San Jose on the River project. The existing buildings were demolished by the owner, McGarvey Residential Communities, before Elkins could begin on the $4 million site package.
