Elkins Constructors, Inc. Named Top 50 Green Contractors
Jacksonville, Florida - Elkins Constructors, Inc. has been named one of the top 50 green contractors in the country by Engineering News-Record magazine. The Jacksonville-based licensed general contractor came in at No. 28. The magazine based its survey on 2006 revenue generated by contractors from projects registered with or certified by third-party ratings groups under objective environmental or sustainable development standards. The top 50 companies generated $8.96 billion in revenue from green projects last year.
This is the first time ENR has produced a ranking of contractors based on the volume of sustainable and "green" projects. Elkins green projects include three office buildings and two projects for secondary educational institutions.
