New Manager of Preconstruction Services Appointed at Elkins Constructors

Jacksonville, Florida - Elkins Constructors, Inc., announces the promotion of Dan Lee to Manager of Preconstruction Services. He succeeds Tim Weir, who retired in December 2005.

Before his promotion, Lee had a long career with Elkins, joining the firm in 1998 as a member of the preconstruction services team. He has completed more than 50 projects for Elkins totaling $468 million in value. In the past year, Lee’s focus has been in the company’s institutional and residential markets, working on the courthouses of Clay and Flagler counties, Pier Point Condominium and The Metropolitan Condominium, among other projects.

“He has been a part of some of our most successful and high-profile projects,” said Barry L. Allred, President and CEO of Elkins Constructors. “Dan is the right man to lead this dynamic department on which all of our markets rely.”

With this promotion, Lee said he plans to increase the size of the department and add new, value-added services for the company’s clients. “Our clients demand strong preconstruction services to provide the upfront analysis needed to invest confidently in a construction project,” said Lee. “It makes sense to bring them supplementary services to better meet their goals.”

Recently, Lee also became Elkin’s first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional. Spearheading the “green building” movement at Elkins, Lee earned the accreditation in December 2005. LEED accredited professionals support incorporating energy efficient, environmentally friendly and high-performance practices into construction projects.

With 29 years of experience in construction, Dan is a former co-owner of Empire Construction of Indiana, where he served as Vice President of Sales. He spent six years in Singapore at Pacific Architects & Engineers, where he developed the construction division of this international firm.
