Dave joined Elkins Constructors in 2006, bringing with him more than 25 years of experience. During his career he has served as a project manager, senior project manager, director of construction, vice president and chief construction officer. In 2009, Dave was charged with opening Elkins Georgia Operations Office located in Savannah. Dave is a graduate of Purdue University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Building Construction and is a certified general contractor.
Dave has successfully completed a variety of commercial projects ranging from office buildings to condominiums, hotels and assisted living facilities. His experience includes projects in all major delivery methods: construction management, design/build and general construction. He is well-versed in developing and implementing results-oriented management practices regarding construction operations, procedures and system, and the effective use of technology in field operations. Dave is an experienced professional who leads with enthusiasm and energy. His strong focus on client satisfaction is matched with safety and quality as fundamental principles of his work ethic.
He is involved in Associated General Contractors, serving on its board of directors; Construction Specification Institute (CSI); Civil Engineering Management and Building Construction Management as an advocate for Purdue University; the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and its advisory board; an the University of North Florida’s Advisory Council for Building Construction Management.
